What we collect

When you create a Kotatabi account, we collect your email address and display name. As you use the app, we store your learning data: reviewed cards, streak history, XP, language progress, deck contents and activity events. We also collect basic usage analytics (pages visited, features used) to improve the product.

How we use your data

Your data is used to:

• Provide and maintain the learning experience (scheduling, streaks, leagues)
• Sync your progress across devices
• Improve the app based on aggregate usage patterns
• Send essential account emails (password reset, email confirmation)

We do not use your data for advertising or sell it to third parties.

Data storage and processing

Kotatabi uses Supabase (supabase.com) as its database and authentication provider. Supabase is hosted on AWS infrastructure. Your data is stored securely and encrypted at rest. We do not run our own servers.

Cookies

Kotatabi uses only essential cookies required for authentication and session management. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics cookies.

Your rights

You can:

• Access your data — request a copy of everything we store about you
• Delete your account — remove all your data from our systems permanently
• Export your data — download your decks and learning history in a portable format

Children's privacy

Kotatabi is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through the app. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
